Volunteer with YCBAD
Are you a medical student, doctor, or healthcare professional working in Scotland? You can be a volunteer! We rely on the support of volunteers to help run our events – both online and in-person. Our events are held across Scotland, with the majority of in-person events in Glasgow and Edinburgh. However, we also run virtual sessions to support students in remote and rural areas.
Volunteering Opportunities
We have a variety of events which require extra hands, including:
-
Review and marking of personal statements
-
Interviewing prospective medical students in our ‘Mock interviews’ event
-
Participation in ‘Meet the medics’, where pupils have the opportunity to talk to doctors and medical students from various fields and gain insight into what studying medicine and being a doctor is like.
-
Our S1 programme, which involves delivery of structured events to younger years pupils to develop their interest in medicine
Volunteers will be provided with the appropriate supporting materials produced by YCBAD prior to our events.
All participants will receive certificates confirming their contribution.

Sign up to hear about opportunities as they arise. Alternatively, get in touch if you would like to ask for more information or have suggestions for other events.
