S1 Programme

Are you a teacher in a state school looking for fun activities to do with your pupils? You Can Be A Doctor are offering interactive classroom sessions which aims to introduce kids to the human body and healthcare as a career.

About the Event

This program for S1 pupils aims to inspire pupils who might never have thought to consider a career in medicine.

We have a network of volunteers across the country and have designed three interactive classroom events based on the cardiovascular system, the digestive system, and the role of various other healthcare professions.

They are deliverable in person (by doctor, medical student or teacher) and online with pre-recorded videos for a seamless event. We are particularly looking to support pupils from widening participation backgrounds.

Each session is 40-60 minutes long. To request a You Can Be A Doctor volunteer to deliver one or all of these sessions to your class please register your interest below. We aim to get back to you as quickly as possible but it takes a wee while to source volunteers – doctors are busy people!

Arranging a date

We'll contact you and decide on a date that works. We'll need to consider the availability of volunteers to run the event.

Behind the scenes

Our team will find a suitable volunteer (with valid PVGs) and get all the equipment and resources to deliver the session. You can ask any questions in the meantime.

On the day
