Your school sends your application with your reference, so it will usually set its own deadline a few weeks before 15 October. Find out the date early.

Find your guidance teacher early
Tell them you're applying for medicine and that your deadline is 15 October – much earlier than most.
Give them the details
Share your work experience, volunteering and achievements, so your reference can mention them.
Ask to read it
Ask if you can see your reference before it's sent, so there are no surprises at interview.

How much does it cost?
Applying costs £34.50 for 2027 entry, for up to five choices. If you get free school meals or you're a care leaver, you may be able to apply for free – ask your school or check the UCAS website.
